There is a pdf with a p-i falseta and mp3 recording as well as an mp3 with Gabriel Cabrera on this post.Only when listening to the singer Fosforito sing a Bulería de Cádiz that I remembered my friends in Málaga: Pepe de Campillos and Gabriel Cabrera. Pepe often sings the particular Bulería I heard and so I decided to try and remember that falseta Gabriel always played, and here it is. Here I play it using thumb and index finger, Gabriel plays it with i-m-a arpeggios. This traditional falseta makes an excellent thumb and index study.

You will notice that I have not written any rasgueados in the tablature. Even so, it should be self explanatory, if not please bear with us until we post more rasgueado work in the technique pages.
Bulería de Cádiz is usually played al golpe and at quite a pace. To reflect the humorous content of the words, they are usually played in major keys. To hear an example of Bulería de Cádiz you can go to La Junta de AndalucÃa site here and listen to Tina Pavón with Eduardo Rebollar. Here are some traditional words that are still often sung.

we recently returned from Malaga running from volcanic ash clouds
…..we visited
ours was the last plane leaving Madrid to Heath Row before they shut down
the airports. During our 8 day stay stay, regrettably we saw no flamenco.

I’m spending most of my time on scales these days

When I occasionally venture into a tango, farruca, solea, seguiriya
I am more obsessed with the harmony (chord progressions), compas
than with the satisfying licks from falsettas.
Did you notice that recently Paco De Lucia gave performances at the Lincoln Centre
with Wynton Marsalis? I haven’t heard any of them yet have you?

Both the mp3s have been recovered – thanks for that. A great pity that you didn’t visit the Peña Juan Breva while you were stranded. Ojen – a wonderful place. Getting lost is a great way to travel – one of my favourite so long that you have the time to kill.
Mendacity is an important way of life that even has its very own literary genre – “la pÃcaresca”. Unfortunately I am not able to dedicate much time to following concerts at present. How were they? Perhaps you could do a write up for the site?

the lyrics are slightly more intelligible
These days, I don’t listen to a cante (song) any more
unless I understand the words (seldom)
or I see the written lyrics
ALL of the culture is TOTALLY lost without the words
… which are mostly emotional and poetic …
and since flamenco is already MOSTLY lost
it becomes mission impossible to really appreciate it ..
